The Haliwards 2011

We are pleased to introduce the Haliwards, a new community awards project in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Throughout the world there are people who strive to make their community just that little bit better. It’s the person who gives their time to raise money for charity; the mother who has sacrificed her life to care for a sick family member; the person who has stood up for what they believe in, just because it felt right; or the person who has done everything they could to make your life just that little bit easier. These are the people who make up what we know as a community today.

Our aim is to give the people of HRM a chance to offer their thanks to individuals or groups for the extraordinary things they have done, whatever that may be. Our awards have no boundaries – that’s what makes us unique. In everyone’s life there is someone who’s extraordinary… so why not nominate them for a Haliward and give them a memory to treasure for a lifetime.

After the huge success of year one, we are working hard to put plans in place for year two. We are now in the nomination stage, so make sure you take the time to nominate friends and family who have made a difference in your life.

We also pleased to inform you that we now have our Advisory Board in place. 9 young enthusiastic locals are working hard alonsigside the Director to make sure that our 2011 project is remembered for a very long time.
