Haliwards, the community based project that recognizes local groups and individuals who make a positive impact on Halifax Regional Municipality, announces Heather Shay as the host of this year’s awards ceremony. The awards will be presented April 2, 2011 at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
Shay, chair of the 2011 Haliwards Advisory Committee, along with Haliwards director Alex Maine, is excited to be spearheading this worthwhile initiative for a second year.
“I am very pleased that Heather has agreed to host our 2011 ceremony in my absence,” says Maine. “Heather presented several awards in our inaugural year in Halifax and I know she is right for the job. I am confident that she will succeed expectations thanks to her own personal abilities and the strong and able support of the Haliwards team.”
The 2010 Haliwards were a great success and nothing less is expected for the 2011 ceremony in which eight local award winners will be recognized.
“It’s a great honour for me to host the 2011 ceremony in the absence of our Director, Alex Maine,” says Shay. “We have a unique set of handpicked winners and I’m looking forward to presenting the awards at the ceremony.”
Tickets to Haliwards are extremely limited and sold out 30 days prior to the event last year. Don’t be let down. Purchase your tickets now at http://haliwards.eventbrite.com
Established in 2010, Haliwards is a community awards project based in the Halifax Regional Municipality that recognizes “everyday” individuals and groups who strive to make their community just a little bit better.
