Haliwards: Post-Ceremony

Haliwards, the community based project that recognizes local groups and individuals who make a positive impact on Halifax Regional Municipality, concluded its second annual ceremony on Saturday evening. With all award winners in proud attendance, the ceremony was a great success.

Heather Shay and Alex Maine cohesively hosted the ceremony. Cassie Ellis-Browne was the guest coordinator, warmly welcoming the award recipients and guests.

“The ceremony was moving and memorable. Again, we said thank you to some of the outstanding and extraordinary people in HRM,” Says Maine. I had a wonderful evening and beyond the ceremony I am deeply touched by the feedback of congratulations and appreciation that I have been receiving.”

The vibrant atmosphere of the awards was accented by the musical entertainment provided by Kristina Trites, Chloe Jones and the Doucet Sisters. The audience was captivated during each performance.

“My experience hosting the awards was very exciting,” says Shay. “It was an honour to present awards to the very deserving recipients.”

Haliwards was a great experience for all who attended. The night was filled with many laughs and even a few tears, as the award winners showed the audience why they were receiving a Haliward.

However, don’t be down if you missed the ceremony. It was recorded in high definition and the DVD, along with photos from the ceremony will be available for order online – www.haliwards.com/dvd.
